As Class Secretary of our law school graduating class, my sole duty, and my honor and pleasure, is to write a Foreword to our Quinquennial Class Directory.
It has been 40 years since June 4, 1981 when we were handed our diplomas on the steps of Langdell Hall. Hard to believe.
Personally, I enjoy looking at the stack of little red class directory volumes on my bookshelf (there are seven of them), and I am a little wistful that I will not be adding a new one this year. But for totally understandable reasons, the Law School, like many other publishers and organizations, has decided to move into the Twenty-First Century, and go virtual.
This year, our class report will come to us through a website as our first ever Virtual Red Book. Yes, one more login and password that you will need to remember! But, on this website, we will be able to view each other's profile details, essays, photos, and remembrances, and it will be easy to update.
This "brave new world" will only work if we participate, so please take a few minutes to log in and share your updated contact information, triumphs and challenges, and personal ruminations on life and the law. Photos of your grandchildren are particularly encouraged.
As of this writing, the Law School has not yet announced what it intends to do with respect to our reunion. So stay tuned for details.
Get vaccinated, and stay safe.
All the best.
